On 16 August 2024, the Offline 16: Pickleball Challenge brought together 310 Offliners for a meaningful phone-free experience at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort. This ESG initiative, spearheaded by VitaHealth, an Australian-owned supplement brand, and Tropicana Corporation, with strong support from the BIG Caring Group, turned seven hours offline into a joy reset filled with wellness and real connections.

Dr. KS Beh, CEO of VitaHealth (Malaysia & Singapore) and founder of Offline 16 shared, “Across 7 editions, we’ve clocked 41 offline hours and engaged 1,320 offliners. What began as a digital detox is now a joy reset, a movement inspiring people to put down their phones, reconnect and live fully present.” Through trusted supplements and immersive wellness experiences, VitaHealth continues to build healthier, happier communities.

A Day of Pickleball Fun

The day’s headline attraction was none other than pickleball, the world’s fastest-growing sport, made extra special with the presence of VitaHealth ambassadors Olympian Pearly Tan and Malaysia’s top pickleball player Colin Wong.

The action kicked off with energising warm-ups led by Anytime Fitness, powered up with VLife Powerr energy boosts to stay sharp and ready. Next came a dynamic pickleball clinic led by Colin Wong, where Offliners learned tips and tricks from the pro himself. The excitement peaked with an electrifying exhibition match featuring ambassadors, organisers, and KOL friends. Offliners then took to the courts for open play using the paddle-stacking format, creating matches that mixed beginners with pros. Cheers, laughter, and friendly rivalries filled the air.

The Top 3 scorers walked away with a Facolos Elite X Pro Pickleball paddle worth RM1,128.50 each, courtesy of Facolos, our official equipment partner. Beyond prizes, the real win of the day was the sense of togetherness and the reminder that life is better lived fully in the moment.

Wellness, Fitness and Mindfulness

Beyond the courts, Offliners immersed themselves in a variety of activities designed to recharge the mind, body, and soul. From soothing yoga and sound baths that calmed the senses, to high-energy Piloxing and Body Combat sessions that got everyone moving, the day was a perfect balance of relaxation and exhilaration. Adding to the atmosphere, live jazz music had Offliners singing along, sharing laughter over coffee, flipping through books from BookXcess, and even unwinding with creative drawing sessions.

Wellness was truly at the heart of the Offline 16 experience. Offliners took time to care for their health with comprehensive checks and one-on-one consultations from experts at VitaHealth, BIG Pharmacy, Caring Pharmacy, and Herbs of Gold, gaining valuable insights into their personal well-being. After hours of pickleball action, many headed to the OGAWA booth for soothing massages, melting away muscle tension, while others sought out the Hong Jue Tang booth for traditional relief therapies.

On the fitness front, Anytime Fitness kept the energy levels soaring with activities that went beyond just exercise. Offliners experienced comprehensive full-body scans to understand their fitness levels, took on exciting fitness challenges that pushed their limits, and joined guided recovery sessions to restore strength after hours of play. Every cheer, every bead of sweat, and every high-five reminded Offliners that fitness is as much about community as it is about strength.

For mental wellness, the Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA) provided a nurturing environment through mindfulness practices and self-care therapy sessions. These moments of reflection encouraged Offliners to pause, breathe, and reconnect with themselves. Meanwhile, the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) facilitated interactive group activities that fostered deeper bonds among Offliners. By sharing stories, laughter, and teamwork, Offliners not only recharged their minds but also strengthened their sense of belonging and togetherness.

Adding a touch of sustainability, Offliners also enjoyed a hands-on workshop to craft their own upcycled Offline 16 keychains, a meaningful keepsake to take home. The day was also filled with opportunities to explore and engage at the DSA and Tropicana booths, where fun activities and interactive showcases brought more excitement and variety to the offline journey.

Offliners cherished the meet-and-greet session with the ambassadors, taking photos, sharing smiles, and bringing home signed keepsakes. Moments like these reflect the true spirit of Offline 16, wehre genuine connections beyond the screen.

Every Offliner left with an exclusive goodie bag worth over RM300, featuring a limited-edition Protech jersey, supplements, and lifestyle items from partners including Skechers and Libresse. Each Offliner also earned a finisher badge and e-certificate, a proud reminder of their Offline 16 journey. To top it off, over RM25,000 worth of lucky draw prizes were given away, with three lucky winners walking home with a Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra worth RM3,399 each.
