VitaHealth contributes RM10,000 to COVIDCAREMY COVID-19 Response Fund

VitaHealth, through its ongoing VCareForYou corporate social responsibility initiative, donated RM10,000 to COVIDCAREMY 3.0 COVID-19 Response Fund to be channelled towards supporting families across Malaysia whose livelihood have been severely affected by the pandemic.

“Giving back to the community has always been a core part of our corporate culture. We remain committed to upholding our corporate social responsibility to make meaningful contributions to the community,” said Beh.

COVIDCAREMY is an immediate crisis response initiative launched by the Development of Human Resources for Rural Areas (DHRRA) Malaysia, in collaboration with 20 local NGOs, to ensure no one is left behind since the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) on 18 March 2020. DHRRA is a non-profit organisation with almost two decades of community development experience particularly in promoting empowered and self-reliant communities through grassroots community development initiatives.

DHRRA: Building Resilient Communities

Through the COVIDCAREMY initiative, DHRRA aims to build the resiliency of the affected communities by reaching out and providing assistance and counselling services to those affected by COVID-19 across the country. Each marginalized family will receive an Emergency Need Basket worth RM150, which includes groceries, food items, masks and sanitisers. The provisions are estimated to last a family of 5 members for two weeks.

On top of that, COVIDCAREMY is also further engaging a small pool of daily-wage earners to increase their income-generating opportunities in the following manners:

  • Groceries are purchased from small business owners.
  • Members of the B40 communities pack groceries for distribution and get paid in return.
  • Taxi and e-hailing drivers earn by delivering groceries for beneficiaries.

The affected communities will be able to access the support and assistance through hotline numbers: 017-7803054 / 03-7887 3371. All assistance will be provided upon verification.

“We are truly honoured to lend a helping hand where possible to DHRRA’s initiative to ease the burden of the communities who are adversely affected by the pandemic. We are all in this together, and we will get through this together! Once our staff are fully vaccinated, we will step up our community outreach efforts to help those who need it the most during these difficult times,” Beh added.
